There’s nothing quite like July in Gibraltar. Long, sun-soaked days, warm Mediterranean breezes and an atmosphere buzzing with life make it the perfect time
for a summer getaway and there’s no better place to stay than The Eliott Hotel, we’re right in the centre of it all!
Whether you’re here to explore historic sites, relax by the sea or sip cocktails while enjoying live music, July brings out the very best of Gibraltar.
The streets come alive in summer, especially in the evenings when locals and visitors fill the cafés, squares and terraces.
Join us every week at our Veranda Bar for live music by talented local artists. From jazz to acoustic covers, enjoy an evening of great entertainment with your favourite
cocktail in hand. We stock locally produced gin by Spirit of The Rock, with so many flavours to enjoy you’ll be spoilt for choice, which is why you can order a whole gin
tree of your choice! Enjoy your evening indoors at our stylish bar or outside on our leafy terrace.
Take in Gibraltar’s panoramic views with dinner on the 8th floor. Our Rock Salt Restaurant blends Mediterranean flavours, served with unforgettable sunsets overlooking Spain, the Bay of Gibraltar and even Morocco on a clear night.
While formal festivals are quieter in midsummer, Casemates Square and the Old Town come alive with pop-up performances, local art stalls and buzzing outdoor
dining throughout July. One event not to miss is the Wine Festival at My Wines, held in celebration of their 10th anniversary of their festival. Taking place on Chatham Counterguard, the street transforms into a vibrant open-air festival with FREE entry, wine flowing from tents featuring bottles from around the world and an irresistible food lineup including @ofyr_worldwide BBQ, @thedirtyburgergib and a traditional ham and cheese stall. The party runs from 5pm and can last to 2am with live music and DJs and good to note all stalls operate with card payment only. It’s a true local favourite – festive, flavourful and full of summer spirit.
When the temperature rises, Gibraltar’s coast becomes the ultimate playground.
Eastern Beach – Gibraltar’s largest stretch of sand, just a short walk from The Eliott. Sunbathe while watching planes land at the nearby airport a uniquely Gibraltar experience and a photo worthy moment to share back home with friends and family.
Catalan Bay – Known locally as “The Caleta”, this colourful fishing village is as photogenic as it is peaceful. A perfect spot for a relaxing afternoon by the sea. You must visit at least once during your visit.
Sandy Bay – A local favourite for water sports, Sandy Bay is the perfect spot to try paddleboarding or kayaking with In2Adventures. Many guests enjoy gliding along the coast toward Catalan Bay or even past the historic Gorham Cave. If you’re lucky, you might even catch a glimpse of dolphins or the occasional whale making their way
through the open waters.
Little Bay – Ideal for families with young children, featuring calm waters and a kids’ splash pool
